Jail and Reentry Services (JARS) Library Program


Description:

The San Francisco Public Library, in partnership with San Francisco Sheriff’s Department, provides books and reference services to people inside of County Jails #2, #4 and #5. Named Jail and Reentry Services (JARS), the program also connects people who recently experienced incarceration with the library’s many resources that support successful reentry, and provides reference services by mail to incarcerated people around the country.
