Within 72 hours of a referral to any of YWFC's Stepping int Sisterhood Programs (SIS), a program participant will be connected with. YWFC operates space designed specifically for this population where young women can feel safe and access food, services, educational programming (including access to high school through our site based 5 Keys Charter School), college counseling, food, and childcare if needed. SIS programs are 12-15 weeks, incentive based, and designed to meet the specific complex needs of young women within population. Young Mothers United is designed for pregnant and parenting young moms navigating the system. Freedom Circles (formerly Sisters Circles) are designed to support young women through the reentry process and in developing peer based supports while promoting healing, pro-social behaviors, and self-determination - all key ingredients for success. Beyond Survival is specifically geared towards young women who, in addition to system involvement, have experienced trafficking, been involved in sex work, and or participated in the illegal street economy. Young women in SIS have access to a multitude of services and support at the center and through partner agencies including; healing modalities (yoga, writing, therapy) opportunities for civic engagement as they reduce system involvement and become more stable, and opportunities for longer term internships and employment with YWFC.
