Description

The Alcoholics Rehabilitation Association of San Francisco, Inc., operates the ARA First Step Home, a residence for men and women who are suffering from alcoholism. Our main objective is to return the alcoholic to his or her rightful place in society. The recovery program is oriented towards Alcoholics Anonymous. Help is also provided to make use of community resources to aid in the recovery process..

Services:

Sober Living; Transitional Housing; AA Meetings. There are meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous held at the Home each week. Attendance at meetings is considered a requirement of residence in the Home..

State-Issued ID; TB Clearance (or within 7 days of program entrance).

Fees:

Call for information. No SSI accepted.

Eligibility:

Individuals who have completed a primary program (minimum 28 days) within the last year, who have an honest and sincere desire to gain and maintain sobriety and are in need for food, shelter, and an atmosphere of friendly understanding and are willing to work.

Office Hours: 7 days a week, 9:00am - 5:00pm Intake Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 6:30am - 9:30am

Notes:

Acceptance by referral only. If you are on probation or parole, you must be on supervision in San Francisco. We do not accept probationers or parolees from other counties. Call to be sure you meet the minimum requirements. Telephone Interviews are done Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. Once accepted to waiting list, check-in Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
